Head of Performance/Growth
Job Summary
As the Head of Performance/Growth for a consumer investment app, you will be responsible for driving user acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies, leading our performance marketing efforts, and optimizing the app's overall growth strategy. This is a leadership role in which you will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and data teams to scale growth in a data-driven and sustainable manner.
The ideal candidate is a growth-oriented leader with a proven track record in driving high-impact growth initiatives, a deep understanding of digital marketing channels, and strong analytical skills. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the app and significantly contributing to its success.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Marketing:
Lead and optimize performance marketing campaigns, including, but not limited to, paid social, SEM, display ads, influencer marketing, and affiliate marketing. Maximize ROI while maintaining cost efficiency.Data-Driven Optimization:
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and optimize user acquisition, conversion, and retention strategies. Use A/B testing, data analysis, and customer insights to improve growth tactics continuously.User Acquisition & Retention:
Oversee the development of user acquisition campaigns across various platforms (Google, Facebook, TikTok, App Store). Work closely with the product and customer success teams to improve retention strategies, onboarding processes, and user engagement.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with the product, engineering, and analytics teams to ensure alignment between growth efforts and product development. Share insights to influence product features that drive user growth and engagement.Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a growing team of performance marketers, growth hackers, and data analysts. Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning, helping the team scale and develop in a high-growth environment.Budget & Resource Management:
Oversee the growth and marketing budget. Make data-driven decisions about resource allocation across various growth initiatives, ensuring effective use of the company’s marketing spend.Reporting & Communication:
Regularly report on growth performance to the executive team, including insights on user acquisition, cost-per-acquisition (CPA), lifetime value (LTV), and other critical growth metrics. Adjust strategies and tactics as needed to meet growth targets.Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in growth, performance marketing, or a similar leadership role, ideally within a consumer-facing, digital-first business (preferably fintech, SaaS, or mobile apps).
Proven track record of successfully scaling user acquisition and retention efforts in high-growth environments.
Strong understanding of digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, TikTok, SEO, email marketing, and affiliate marketing.
Advanced proficiency in data analytics and A/B testing. Familiarity with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar tools.
Ability to create and analyze dashboards, reports, and growth metrics (CAC, LTV, ROI, etc.).
Experience managing and mentoring cross-functional teams, including marketers, data analysts, and product teams.
Ability to foster a collaborative, results-driven team culture with a focus on growth and experimentation.
Ability to think creatively and solve complex challenges related to user acquisition, engagement, and retention.
Experience balancing long-term strategic goals with short-term performance objectives.
Strong interest in personal finance, fintech, and technology-driven consumer products is preferred.
Familiarity with consumer financial apps, tools, and trends is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present growth strategies and performance insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
