Ayman Elsawie, founder and CEO of Bokra Holding, has outlined the company's plan to expand into venture capital through two new funds focused on the industrial sector, alongside completing the regulatory steps needed to list them on the Egyptian Exchange during 2026.

Speaking to Mubasher Investment Funds, Elsawie said the company intends to launch two venture capital funds concentrating on the industrial sector — particularly medical devices, electronic products and household goods — with investments expected to range between $6m and $7m.

He explained that Bokra Holding has already received incorporation approval for both funds and is currently awaiting the activity licence, followed by final launch approval, with these steps expected to be completed within one to two months.

He noted that all the planned funds — except the gold fund, which is an open-ended fund — will be listed on the Egyptian Exchange during 2026, as part of the company's plan to strengthen its presence in the institutional investment market.

He added that launching funds specialising in areas such as technology or sustainability is still under review, given how new the experience is, as the company continues to evaluate the available opportunities before deciding on expansion into those sectors.

Customer base growth

On the growth of the customer base, Elsawie revealed that the platform has passed 100,000 users, including around 25,000 active investing and saving customers, while between 7,500 and 8,000 customers entered the sukuk market for the first time — reflecting a marked expansion among individual investors.

Licences and services

He confirmed that the company holds a full set of licences covering asset management, establishing investment funds, issuing sukuk, and venture capital activity, alongside promotion and underwriting, as well as a financial technology (FinTech) licence — which enabled it to launch its app and serve individuals and companies more efficiently.

He also noted that Bokra Holding has, over the past period, contracted with more than 15 companies to provide money management services, alongside offering a range of investment solutions to individuals through its digital platform.

In early September 2025, the Financial Regulatory Authority approved the establishment of Bokra Private Equity Investment Fund Company, whose purpose is investment fund activity (private equity), subject to Law No. 95 of 1992 and its executive regulations.
